Letter from the Editors
Dear Reader,
Speculative fiction is often the realm of big ideas, with stories about places and events far beyond our normal experience. Yet within these extraordinary settings, spec fic authors are able to provide equally extraordinary insights and revelations about our inner worlds.
Consider the stories in this issue. Here, you'll find keenly imagined explorations of human realities, such as regret and loneliness, freedom and captivity, and isolation and connection. Enter the imaginative worlds of these authors with:
- "Full Nova" by Phillip E. Dixon--In a bar called The Fourth Dimension, the cocktails can defy time and space... and maybe even death.
- "Find Your Voice"--How do you find the way to communicate what is truly inside you?
- "Half Lives"--What seemed like an office prank turns into a wild and dangerous time travel mystery.
- "Hats" by Christopher Mattravers-Taylor--Cyberpunk meets the milliner's art in this darkly humorous tale about intrusive technology.
- "The Show Must Go On"--Terror strikes the circus as conjoined twins try to escape natural and supernatural perils.
In our Editor's Corner, we feature an interview with Charles Kowalski, author of the "Simon Grey Adventures," a series set in a mythical feudal Japan.
Finally, we're happy to present the work of Brian Malachy Quinn, who created our cover image for this month, "You Shall Not Pass."
Thanks for reading,
Lesley, Grayson, Candi, and the Electric Spec Team
